Keeping parents on track with their teens

I've been a counselor for families for over 10 years. Most of my work has been in Rawlins, Wyoming, even though I live in Fort Collins and send my children to school here. My son, Aaron, and daughter, Adriane, have both attended and graduated from Lesher Junior High and I have two more at Boltz.

Starting this year, I'm concentrating my work in Fort Collins. I have service that will be useful to families at Lincoln Junior High.

My target is to help kids who are just starting to stray. I want to catch kids whose grades are beginning to slip, whose attitudes are starting to go down hill, who are involved with oppositional behavior in an experimental way, who have rarely (if ever) been involved with the law or school discipline, who need guidance to make sure their detour from the right track is short and temporary. I need your help to find those kids and begin steering them back.

In my experience, successful interventions are focused on a single troubled child and his or her family and their unique set of circumstances. A good rapport based on trust is the first step and is the core to effective therapy. I would like to meet you and share my ideas and listen to yours.
